About

Hundreds of legislative bills are passed in law, each year, by United States Congress. Details of these bills/laws are available for public access at CONGRESS.GOV

At times, it could be a bit challenging for common citizens to understand the broader impact of some of these bills/laws. With the remarkable advent of AI in our present day lives, such challenges can be addressed, at least to some extent, if not fully.

This site uses AI (OpenAI) to perform analysis of these bills (currently going back to last 8 years of United States Congress). The results of AI analysis of these bills are qualitative and illustrated with some degree of quantification.

Qualitative aspect of AI analysis highlights the impact of these bills on the beneficiaries, e.g., Common Citizens, Small Businesses, Large Businesses, Government and classifies the benefits using the scale - definitely, most likely, likely, less likely, none. Classification also includes the materiality aspect of the bills, i.e., material or symbolic.

Quantification aspect of this AI analysis attempts to justify the classifications by quantifying the impacts of the bills with illustrative numbers. Basically, asking AI to prove the points in its analysis, therefore, hoping to add certain degree of legitimacy in the analysis.

Consolidated results of AI analysis are displayed in interactive charts that can be filtered with different criteria. AI analysis of the bills of interest can be reviewed interactively as well.

How to use this site

There are three menu options/pages to interact with different data elements from the AI Analysis.

Top section of each page provides options to select filter criteria and fetch relevant data. The remaining sections on each page contain interactive charts and additional tables for further filtering of the fetched data.

Clicking on a bar in a rendered chart displays a pop-up window containing the matching bills and corresponding AI analysis related to the underlying data of the bar.
